In the same way people use illegal drugs people also use alcohol

Alcohol acts as a relaxant when taken, when a person is anxious, feeling uncomfortable and nervous or irritated they may turn to drink. The problem with this is if someone needs a drink to feel relaxed, what happens when they are not drinking? People go back to feeling anxious and irritable, they then become held by the alcohol in a place of gradual destruction as the negative effect of alcohol takes place.

Jesus gives us something powerful enough to overcome alcohol abuse in his words and deeds, alcohol can be replaced with following Christ.

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)

A simple prayer:

Dear Jesus, I thank you and put my trust in you, you are always at my side even when feeling low; I know that you will never let me down, forgive me for the times that I have disappointed you, guide me and teach me, fill me with your power, I pray for healing and peace in the love and assurance that you died and rose again for me, amen
