Bullying can be a serious problem for many, even as an adult. There is help available with some very helpful websites that go into bullying in some depth.

Often people bully because they themselves have a serious problem and need help, this could be learned behavior or that they enjoy the experience of control and power they have.

Also people who are bullied are usually wonderful people who show characteristics or personality that the bully is jealous of, as this is how they would really like to be i.e. kind, thoughtful, often popular, considerate and sensitive.

As Christians we are not expected to put up with bullying, it is important to seek help by contacting a recognized organization that can give advice, or your teacher, police officer or the HR Dept.

The bible teaches to turn the other cheek, and forgive your enemy. Forgiveness is important: we are required to forgive those who hurt us, even if we don't feel like it. But remember, just because we 'let them off the hook', it doesn't mean that God does. If God values us, and we value ourselves, then we won't allow an injustice to occur by letting someone walk over us. Bullies rely on people being too afraid to stand up to them, but they often back down when stood up to. You don't have to win a huge argument with them: you just need to be obstinate and stand your ground. Draw on the Lords strength and remember that Jesus was also bullied and he was perfect in every way.

Christians have always been persecuted and suffered all sorts of abuse even death, but God wants us to stand strong together as the family of God, so it may be a good idea to find other Christians and share the problem with them. Together we stand as brothers and sisters

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us” - Romans 8:18

“…we know that for those who love God all things work together for good” - Romans 8:28

If God is for us, who can be against us”- Romans 8:31

The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus

A simple prayer:

Dear Jesus, I thank you and put my trust in you, you are always at my side even when feeling victimised; I know that you will never let me down, forgive me for the times that I have disappointed you, guide me and teach me, fill me with your power, I pray for healing and peace in the love and assurance that you died and rose again for me, amen
