This section was put in because people get very anxious about their body and how they look, especially as we are bombarded through the media with images of ‘how we should look’. This of course due to the fashion industry’s need to maintain demand, if people didn’t follow fashion they would be out of business.

As Christians we know that keeping healthy and looking after ourselves is important: if we matter to God, then we should matter to ourselves. Most of us like to look nice or dress with style, and keep up with whatever our friends are wearing. We also like to stay healthy so that we can live as best we can by trying to avoid the problems associated with not looking after yourself.

But, and it’s a big but, God comes first, and we are told not to worry about these things as they can distract us from what’s important, and that’s our relationship with God through Jesus, so the concern we have as to how we look, and what others will think of us should never take precedence over spending time with God and the realisation of what he thinks of us: Jesus loves us no matter what we look like and no matter what you look like you will look better if you feel better about yourself. They say the most attractive person in a room is the most confident regardless of their looks.

God has given us a great gift of prayer and on God TV you can witness incredible healing, you can watch them happen night after night on the many Christian channels on TV.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away
1 Corinthians 13:4-8

A simple prayer:

Dear Jesus, I thank you and put my trust in you, you are always at my side even when feeling desperate; I know that you will never let me down, forgive me for the times that I have disappointed you, guide me and teach me, Please help me to stay healthy, fill me with your power, I pray for healing and peace in the love and assurance that you died and rose again for me, amen
